Oct. 11th, 2015 @ 10:05 pm Finished series: Sanzoku no Musume Ronja
Current Mood: okayokay
We've finished watching Sanzoku no Musume Ronja, an adaptation of the book by Astrid Lindgren. I do not know the book, and I am assuming that it follows the plot faithfully. (Still, allowing your ten-year old daughter to roam the forest unsupervised? how's that for "free-range parenting"?)
It's all done with CGI, also the character animation. Now, most of the time that makes for really stilted characters, but apparently the technique has improved a lot in recent years: the characters move rather smoothly, and the faces are really expressive.
We really liked the series: full of adventure and wonder. I especially liked the harpies: they are unrepentantly malicious. And the true hero of the series is Lovis, just sayin'.
