Finished: Dungeon ni Deai...

We've finished watching Dungeon ni Deai o Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru no Darou ka?. Translated, that means "Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?"

The gods have descended from heaven, and promised to live as human among the humans (and cat- and dog-people and elves, but hey). They can't use their divine powers, but they can recruit mortals in their "families" -- basically the equivalent of guilds in MMOs. There is the Dungeon, and the familias go in there to kill monsters and become stronger (so that they can kill even more monsters -- it is not really explained why one would want that). The monsters drop magical stones which can be used to create magical weapons, and they can be exchanged for money at the Adventurer's Guild. Another fun fact: every adventurer has their character sheet on their back! (There are no respawns, though!)

Bell is the only member of the familia of Hestia. One day, he wanders off too deep in the dungeon, and when a minotaur attacks him, his life is saved by a member of the Loki familia. Of course, he is immediately smitten with her, and gets determined to catch up with her. Along the way, he picks up followers, and his determination and kindness towards others make him a natural leader.
And then there are the girls. His crush seems to have someone else she likes, but there are plenty of girls who seem to have a thing for him -- but Bell doesn't seem to notice!

It's based on a light novel -- but I think it would make one hell of a dungeon-crawler/dating sim computer RPG... One that I think I would enjoy. But we did enjoy the series itself too! There's plenty happening, everybody acts like adults (so no stupid panty-shots etc) (except for Hestia, she is kinda bratty), and you are always left to wonder how the story will continue. It's only 13 episodes, and I would very much like to see a sequel!
