New anime

And it goes on!

Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya: Two magical girls can't stand each other, even though they got sent to Japan on a mission together. Flying high above the city, they come to blows, and their magical wands decide they've had enough -- the girls are stripped of their Magical Girl status! Instead, unsuspecting Illya gets accosted by one of the magical wands while taking a bath and wishing she had magical powers to make Shirou love her back. Without really wanting it, Illya enters in a contract(!) with the magical wand and become a magical girl. And then the erstwhile owner of the wand shows up -- she wants it back!
This pokes fun at the magical girl genre conventions, but there is also a bit of a dark undertone: Illya doesn't know what she is getting into, and talk about a 'contract' reminded me strongly of Puella Magi Madoka Magica...

Kitakubu Katsudou Kiroku: Natsuki doesn't know which club she wants to join, and when asked says she would choose the "going home club". At most schools, that means no club at all, and you just go home at the end of the day. But it turns out that her new school actually has a club called the "Going Home Club". And instead of going home, they undertake all sorts of activities... It's one of those 'odd club doing not much of anything' that's been popular lately. And I don't mind, because it makes for light-weight viewing.

Gatchaman Crowds: A successor of the hugely popular Gatchaman anime. Ichinose takes everything at face value, so when she sees a guy in a special suit fight with something alien, she accepts it for what it is. She is invited to join the team, Gatchaman, to defend Earth against a secret, alien invasion. And so she becomes a Gatchaman too!
I remember watching the Westernised version ("G-Force Team") of the original Gatchaman when I was a little kid. I really wanted to like this series: it certainly has the polished look of a high-budget item. But in the end, I just didn't care enough about the characters and their fight...

I think this concludes all the new anime this season!
