Just after versus now

I've posted the series of aerial photography before and after the tsunami in Japan before. The enormous destruction was immediately apparent.

But the Japanese decided they have to soldier on and clean up the mess. These photos of specific spots in the disaster area, taken just after the tsunami and again earlier this month show a striking can-do attitude. I knew the Japanese would work hard to restore the area, but I am very impressed by the progress made.
