Fub the cyclops

Some of you already know this, but when I was five, I almost lost my right eye to an infected wound on the cornea. With a high dosage of antibiotics, my eye was preserved -- but I still have a scar, which I can see when I look at bright, white surface. When I needed glasses some nine years later, we went to the same the eye doctor -- just to be on the safe side. He was very interested to look into the scar again, even though it wasn't strictly necessary, just to satisfy his curiosity. He remarked that the wound had healed quite nicely and wanted to know about whether I saw something from the scar.

So, all's well that ends well. Otherwise I would have gotten an artificial eye, like the one made in this video. Very interesting artisanal process. Be warned: if you find empty eye sockets icky, this video might upset you somewhat.
