No upgrade to Gutsy any time soon

I run Ubuntu version 7.04, nicknamed Feisty Fawn. Back in October, version 7.10 came out, nicknamed Gutsy Gibbon. Since then, the software update window has a button to upgrade to that new version.

I downloaded the live CD and booted into that version, and I checked the kernel options. Nope, CONFIG_USB_SUSPEND is still set. Which means the GPS still won't work under the stock kernel. And since Feisty serves my purposes very well indeed, I don't want to risk breaking things by upgrading.

So I'm putting it off.
