Ultrasonic range finder up for grabs

So, one of the things my colleague R. gave me is a SRF08 ultrasonic rangefinder. It is still sealed in its anti-static bag -- never been used. New, this thing costs GBP 25.50 (EUR 35.41, USD 51.70). I'll probably never use it -- it is best suited for applications that move around, such as roving robots. But it is too expensive and too specialised to keep in my parts drawer forever.

How to use the thing is detailed here. Basically, you read out the distance via an I2C bus.

Is there anyone on my friendslist who has a use for this thing? A concrete project (obviously I don't want the thing gathering dust in your parts drawer either) that could benefit from this part?
