This morning, I took the train to Utrecht for reasons of work. I think the last time I did that was seven years ago. But with the client at walking distance of the trainstation and me being on-site all day, it was madness to try to go there by car during peak traffic.
The other thing that I haven't done in a long time, is finish a book. I don't read much these days -- perhaps not quite coincidentally, the decline of my book consumption coincided with not travelling by train anymore every working day... But this morning in the train, I finished "Anansi Boys" by Neil Gaiman, which I bought three weeks ago to take with me on the plane to Portugal.
An enjoyable book -- if you liked "American Gods", you will like this one too. The themes are quite similar, yet subtly different. The transformation of the main character was a bit too abrupt for my tastes, but the whole work is quite amusing.
