The Linux Experiment, continued

Things I did to improve my Linux experience:
- Installed the (non-free!) NVidia drivers, and run a commandline tool to add the higher screen resolution to the list of selectable possibilities;
- Installed a bunch of (non-free!) codecs to play video files;
- Installed a NTFS utility that now mounts my NTFS volumes read/write;
- Installed KTorrent, which is close enough to uTorrent;
- Installed Thunderbird;
- Installed Gaim -- haven't gotten IRC to work with it yet, though.

Stuff to be looked into:
- Communication with the GPS unit;
- Recoding videos.

So far, a promising start.
