EMI goes DRM-less

Now this is interesting. EMI, the record company, is in pretty dire straits -- their revenue is dropping faster than you can say "holy shareholder value, Batman!".

According to a marketing study they did (aided by a few experiments), consumers are willing to pay slightly more for DRM-free, higher-quality digital tracks. So that is what they are going to offer now.

Good for them! I might even buy a few tracks now.
