High-brow Japanese girl schools really do exist!

Apparently, the image we get from highschools for girls from series like Strawberry Panic and Maria-sama ga Miteru is not as far removed from reality as we might think...

There is a private all-girls high school, the Hisatagakuen Sasebo Girls' High School, where applicants had to perform a test in using chopsticks -- young people in Japan are eating too much fast food, and they are forgetting basic table manners! Surely a school that has tea ceremony and ikebana as important parts of the curriculum can't tolerate that!

(Cosplayers take note: the school uniform is displayed here. Aren't those blouses rather... thin? Better wear a white T-shirt underneath it...)
