Hints for hosters

Suppose you are sales manager of a larger hosting provider. Your office is close to the SARA and the AMS-IX, and your client portfolio is pretty impressive. Your company is able to handle some high-load sites and is (apparently) able to provide high-availability hosting on short notice.

Next, suppose your clients understand that you won't place their dedicated servers in your offices -- after all, you have some server racks with redundant everything in the SARA buildings.

Still, it doesn't help your case if the network cables in your offices are run over the ceiling tiles and just drop down to floor-level wherever you network. Also, even though nothing critical is running on it, it is simply bad form to have a server tucked under the couch. It leaves a certain impression with your would-be clients, to say the least.
