Finished project: Ger's binary LED klok

The damned thing is finally finished. We will give it to my dad this weekend.

On top the binary LED clock (with orange LEDs this time -- though they're more of a warm red). Below that six 7-segment displays that display the time in roman numerals...

...as long as you keep pressing this button. The moment you let go, the roman numerals turn off again! If you want a binary LED clock, but you're too lazy to learn to read the time in binary, we're certainly not going to accomodate your laziness beyond the bare minimum. ;)

The sysadmins at work had a few rubber feet left, which they donated to me. You can also see that the 'clock face' makes an angle of roughly 90 degrees with the groundplate.

Top view. Left is the microcontroller, right is the piece of PCB with the three shift registers and the quad AND gate.

Close-up of the mess of wires that this has become.

I'm glad it's done. On to other projects -- I'll collect the kits for the nixie clock power circuits from the post office tomorrow...
