When the box is labeled 'LED, 5k pcs', everyone wants to know what's inside!
Alas, not 5000 LEDs, but it's close...
Ten packets of 100 diffused red LEDs, for a total of 1000!
Red, orange, green and blue LEDs. The packets contain 25 LEDs each, but I have 3 more of each color -- so 400 colored LEDs. I wasn't aware of the fact that you have to package LEDs in anti-static packaging -- perhaps the supplier thought it would be a nice touch, but he got bored with sealing those packets so he switched to ziplocks.
The LEDs are 5mm wide, but the lens is less high than with normal 5mm LEDs.
The LEDs placed close to eachother. You can see the large angles on the paper that's held behind the LEDs: about 120 degrees! And they're still so bright you can't make out the individual lights in the picture.
From the top, with a piece of paper to diffuse their light a bit. The orange LED is noticably less bright than the rest, but it's still bright enough!
This is a view from the side. Most LEDs project a beam of light upwards, but these LEDs have such large angles that their light is still very well visible from the side as well!
I'm pretty impressed with the quality of the high-brilliance LEDs. They're bright with a wide-angle beam, and their colors are quite pleasing.
There's also a packet of 20 RGB LEDs, but you've seen those already, so I won't bother photographing those...
