Today

Today is the first 'official' day of our week off. We got up too late, ate breakfast and watched some Da Capo. Then, klik noticed her internet connection had stopped working again. Why is it, that even if you don't change anything in the settings, the network connections will just stop working all by themselves? Curious indeed, or rather: infuriating.
So, after toying around with the network (and with frustration mounting), I decided to switch our modem (I have a Copperjet 810) to a routed profile and be done with it. That way, klik will continue to have network even if I have to reboot or something like that. And now, it all works (again).
If you have a BBNed ADSL provider and a CopperJet modem, you might want to check out this page for updated firmwares, a description of the commands you can give your modem, and various profiles.

Anyway, we then left for the city center. We went to see Shrek 2. We really enjoyed ourselves! It would have been easy to make some tacky parody of all kinds of fairy tales, but the scenario is actually pretty good. And the voice acting is top-notch too. It's not the greatest movie ever made, but it's certainly a good way to pass 90 minutes.
After the movie, we went to Nijmeegs Jopie, the local army surplus store. I get my pants from there -- they're comfortable and practical and cheap, what more could you wish for? However, since I lost quite a bit of weight recently, the pants I have started to sag, I had to hoist 'em up every so often. That got to the point that it started to irritate me, so we got two pairs of trousers that are one size smaller. They're pretty comfortable too! The label says they're size 36, but somehow I think that's still a different size from the women's size 36...

Tomorrow, klik is going shopping with a friend of hers, so I have the day 'off'. I intend to make another trip to Technica, to get some extra parts! And now I'm going to see if I can get Pulse Width Modulation to work...
